Re: FYI: New Federal regulations regarding high-visibility vests

This is an informational notice that the Federal Highway Administration has new regulations, 23 CFR 634, which require the use of reflective vests for emergency personnel working in a “right of way of a federally-aided highway.” These regulations become effective next week, on November 24, 2008. The guidance also contains contact information of who to call at the Federal Highway Administration if you have any questions. Because this is a federal requirement, and not a state requirement, the Federal Highway Administration is the authority for information about this requirement.
