Laerdal AirMan Advanced Airway Simulator
Meet clinical competency training goals!
The Laerdal AirMan Advanced Airway Simulator can help meet clinical competency training goals by keeping staff current in all aspects of difficult and emergency airway management techniques. The Simulator provides the instructor with flexibility for scenario based education and offers a remote control that simulates:
- Respiratory rate and oxygen saturation
- Bilateral or unilateral pneumo-thorax simulation
- Trismus (jaw stiffness)
- Tongue edema
- Laryngospasm
C-spine immobility (rigidity) can be turned on to assist teaching how to overcome Cormack and Lehane grade 3 laryngoscopic views (epiglottis only) that are common during manual in-line axial stabilization.
Other features:
Anatomically realistic with flexible tongue, arytenoid cartilage, vallecula, epiglottis, thyroid cartilage, cricoid cartilage, cricothyroid membrane, vocal cords, trachea, bronchial tree esophagus and simulated lungs for spontaneous breathing and realistic chest rise and fall
- Palpable laryngeal cartilages for effective Sellick’s Maneuver (cricoid pressure), BURP (Backward Upward Rightward Pressure)
- Breath sounds can be auscultated using a stethoscope
- Needle Cricothyrotomy
- Chest decompression
- Endotracheal/Nasotracheal intubation
- Rescue ventilation using LMA, Combitube, King or CPAP
OPA/ NPA- CPR
- IV infusion
Training sessions must be held at Central Mass EMS and you must provide your own instructor. Rent the Simulator and the CMEMS classroom for $35.00 per student. Maximum of five students and your instructor
Your instructor leads training and is responsible for arranging for Physician oversight and OEMS credits.
Signed rental agreement is required.
