The MDPH and OEMS (Department), issued the Statewide Treatment Protocols v. 2023.2 (2023 STPs), to include an emergency update to allow for BiPAP use, as explained in the attached memo.  The update is based on the medical literature, best current EMS practices and the recommendations of the Emergency Medical Care Advisory Board’s (EMCAB’s) Medical Services Committee. NOTE: this is the only change to the prootocols.
